How do I transfer a domain away from Freenom?

To transfer a domain to another registrar, there are steps that you need to take on our end, and steps that you need to take with your new registrar. 

Steps you need to take on our end:

1. From your domain list, select the domain you'd like to transfer away and click 'Manage Domain'.
2. Find the 'Management Tools' tab and click 'Transfer Lock'.
3. On the 'Transfer Lock' page, ensure that the transfer lock for your domain is NOT enabled. 
4. Find the 'Transfer Authorization Code' link on the 'Management Tools' tab. 
5. Copy the authorization code you can find on this page. 

The rest of the process takes place on the interface of your new registrar. You'll need to give them the authorization code.
Depending on the domain you registered, we may send you an email to authorize the transfer before we transfer control over the domain to your new registrar.  Most transfers complete automatically in about a week. When a transfer takes longer than two weeks, it may time out.
