How do I transfer a domain to Freenom?

To transfer a domain from another registrar to Freenom, you'll first need to complete some preparatory steps with your old registrar:
  • The domain name needs to NOT have a transfer lock applied;
  • You'll need to get your EPP or authorization code from your registrar.
Once you've taken these steps, you can start the process of transferring your domain from the my.freenom.com interface:
  1. Under 'Services' choose the 'Transfer Domains' option.
  2. Enter the domain name you want to transfer to Freenom and check its availability.
  3. On the next page, enter the authorization code you've gotten from your old registrar.
The rest of the process works just like a normal domain name registration. The website will guide you through the payment process.

Please do NOT wait until the last days of your domain's original registration period to transfer the domain. If you do, we may not be able to resolve any issues that emerge if the transfer fails to initialize and the domain expires in the mean time.
